UMA Capitol Hill Day Fly-In

All UMA members are invited and encouraged to participate in UMA’s Capitol Hill Day on April 25 & 26, 2017. This is your opportunity to come to Washington, DC to interact with your Congressional delegates and important agency officials and make sure your voice is heard.
Owners and senior management from bus and motorcoach companies from around the nation will gather to meet with their Congressional elected officials to discuss the industry's most pressing legislative issues.

UMA’s host hotel for the 2017 UMA Capitol Hill Day is:

$175 per night*
To encourage member participation, UMA is subsidizing part of the hotel cost for attendees of the event. The discounted rate is what the attendee is responsible for and reflect UMA's subsidy. This subsidized rate is reserved for UMA Capitol Hill Attendees only.
If you submitted a hotel reservation form, you should receive an email with your confirmation number. Please contact the UMA office at 1.800.424.8262 if you did not receive one and we will re-send it.
Please note the subsidized rate is only for Tuesday and Wednesday nights over the event. UMA is unable to subsidize longer stays.
Upon your registration, individual appointments with your U.S. State Senators and U.S. House Representative(s) are scheduled for you. There are many changes in these schedules; particularly in the last days leading up to the event. Additionally, when time permits you will be scheduled with other participants from your state to support their efforts. Your appointments schedule and directions will be given to you at the Legislative Briefing and Capitol Hill Training on Tuesday afternoon. The meeting will be held at Prime Policy Group, 1100 Vermont Avenue, N.W., Suite 1000, Washington, DC 20005. If you miss the briefing/training meeting, you will need to see Ken Presley or Patricia Marshall to pick up your packet with appointments schedule and other pertinent information.
Things to Remember:
• Dress attire for the Capitol Hill Day is business professional (coat & tie or suit).
• Please remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella in case of inclement weather.
• Also, remember to bring your business cards to hand out at your scheduled appointments.
Important: If your plans change and you are NOT able to attend the Capitol Hill Day or a scheduled appointment, please notify UMA staff immediately at 1.800.424.8262. Unattended scheduled meetings do not reflect well on the association and the industry.
Why does it matter?
This is your chance to meet with those elected to represent your interests in Congress.
It's your turn to speak up and let them know your concerns. YOUR VOICE MATTERS....A LOT!
UMA makes the appointments with your Congressional delegation; prepares you with background and talking points, and (in most instances) we have a staff person to assist you during your appointments. You can and will make a difference!
Personally, we cannot think of anything more important to your future, and our industry, than you getting involved in the political process right now!
