Why attend the Bus and Motorcoach Industry Legislative Fly-In?

This event is an investment in your business and in our industry as a whole. When you educate your Representative or Senator you help them to understand your business concerns as a local employer, service provider, and community stakeholder.

You are a VIP when you visit your legislators in Washington, DC. You represent votes, jobs, and economic power. Your representatives and senators work for you! Yes, UMA advocates on your behalf, but constituent voices are powerful in the halls of Congress.

An informed Congress can help rein in regulations, craft legislation, and organize priorities that create an environment that promotes a healthy industry in which all motorcoach operators can grow and prosper, creating jobs and providing clean, safe and reliable transportation for Americans.

You can do this!

  1.  The Fly-In is affordable: there is no cost to participate beyond one's own lodging and transportation. Dinner on April 2, breakfast and a dinner-time reception on April 3 and transportation to and from the Hill are provided. The hotel is $209 per night and it's a new and conveniently located property.
  2. It is time well-spent: we don't waste any time. You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish in 30 hours!
  3. You are the right person for the job! We know you are not a legislative expert. But you ARE an expert about your business and your community. Our professional staff will brief attendees on the issues, schedule all appointments and even accompany attendees to their visits. Your business provides jobs and services that are vital to communities and your members of Congress will value your opinions and concerns.
  4. The impact is huge: Last year 116 people attended and 152 offices were visited for a total of 675 impressions, carrying our industry's priorities to our elected officials. In just one day, issues of importance were raised, elected leaders learned about our businesses, and together we helped raise the profile of our industry as a driver of clean, safe transportation for America.
