Nearly 100 UMA members stormed Capitol Hill April 12-13, 2016, addressing the industry’s most pressing issues.
UMA Members met with their U.S. House and Senate representatives to address the Lease & Interchange Rule and the Safety Fitness Determination Rule; noting the negative impact those regulations would have on their customers and business.
In a personal note to this year’s participants, UMA president and CEO Victor Parra commended UMA members, “On behalf of a grateful industry, the UMA Board of Directors, and staff, thank you for a job well done.”
UMA member volunteers took time away from their families and business to come to Washington at a particularly busy time of year. This year’s participants literally traveled from all four corners of the nation.
“The 2016 UMA Capitol Hill Day was highly productive”, noted Ken Presley, UMA vice president & COO. “Our members conducted well over 400 individualized appointments.”
Thanks to all who participated in this event! You accomplished important work by addressing the industry's most pressing grievances with their elected representatives in Washington, DC. See you next year at the 2017 UMA Capitol Hill Day!
