UMA picks San Francisco, Orlando for Motorcoach Expos in 2008 & 2009

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The United Motorcoach Association has chosen two of North America’s most popular motorcoach travel destinations, San Francisco and Orlando, as the sites for Motorcoach Expo 2008 and Motorcoach Expo 2009.

"We are extremely pleased to be heading to two of the most exciting vacation centers and must-see cities for Motorcoach Expo in 2008 and 2009," said Victor Parra, president and CEO of the United Motorcoach Association, which annually sponsors the private bus industry’s leading trade show and educational forum.

"Accessibility, mild climates and a multitude of entertainment options make both San Francisco and Orlando perfect destinations for Expo attendees and exhibitors alike," said Parra.

San Francisco will host Motorcoach Expo 2008 from Jan. 15-19, with the event’s educational sessions and trade show activities running from Jan. 16-19 at The Moscone Center, the city’s famed convention facility.

For the third time in this decade, Motorcoach Expo is returning to Orlando. Most recently, Expo was in Orlando three years ago, and the city also hosted the show in 2000. The 2009 Expo will be between Jan 13-17, with exhibit and educational programs running Jan 15-17, at the sprawling Orange County Convention Center, the nation’s second-largest convention venue.

Each year, Motorcoach Expo attracts hundreds of motorcoach operators who are eager for the best educational programs and to see the latest products and services being offered by the industry’s leading vendors and suppliers. San Francisco and Orlando were picked as hosts for Motorcoach Expo, Parra explained, because they have world-class convention facilities, exciting new developments, and a wide range of attractions, cultural destinations and entertainment options that will be of interest to the motorcoach and tour operators who attend.

"Each year, both cities host millions of visitors, including thousands who come by motorcoach," said Parra. "Their popularity as top motorcoach destinations stems in large measure from the unusual and unique attractions they offer visitors.
